Recent Project Highlights

Churchill Downs Louisville, KY The long-stagnant, second-level Clubhouse area at Churchill Downs has undergone a $16 million transformation that has turned a large and somewhat shabby space into vibrant, welcoming quarters. The facility has added more than 220 flat-screen televisions to the floor, along with over twice as many more restrooms. In addition to this, there are new lounges and locations within the second floor for fans to see: The Aristides Lounge – Table seating for almost 300 people, along with 27 televisions and a full-service bar. The Loft at Aristides Lounge – Seating for more than 300 guests who hope to have a more “intimate dining and event experience.” Champions Bar and Gold Room – Exclusive area to VIP bettors and horsemen. Dogfish Head Brewings and Eats Rehoboth Beach, DE   Structural design for a new 10,000 square foot eatery and 750 square foot merchandise building.  We anticipate the building structures consist of a combination of various systems including steel bar joists, heavy timber joists, structural steel frame and shallow spread footings with light gauge exterior wall systems.  The building will include restaurant fit-out, stage area, elevated dining mezzanine, Brewing operations and Distillery operations. The roof will have exposed screen wall for mechanical units and the courtyard will have a grade level screen wall. Client: Lighthouse Construction

Westin Hotel Wilmington, DE   Structural design for a new 10-story, approximately 115,000 square foot hotel building adjacent to an existing building. The building includes a restaurant, meeting room, and fitness center in addition to the hotel rooms. LLANERCH COUNTRY CLUB

Llanerch County Club Havertown, PA   Major additions and renovations to an historic Country Club.  The project scope included major structural modifications and over-built construction, while minimizing the introduction of new foundations and disturbance to existing construction. Ocean County College

Ocean County College / Gateway Academic Building Toms River, NJ Structural design services for a new 5-story $22 Million dollar Academic building located on the Ocean County College campus.  The building was constructed using composite steel and concrete construction to support the floor loads associated with academic program.  The building is located within a mile of the New Jersey coastline and utilized a combination of steel braced frames and concrete shear walls to resist required lateral loads. Two City Center - First National Bank Allentown, PA   Structural design services for a new eleven-story, plus basement, approximately 323,000 sq. ft. steel-framed office building.  The building was built directly adjacent to a multi-story senior care building, which remained in operation during the construction.  The building utilized a composite steel and concrete floor system and supported a veneer constructed of panelized thin brick panels.  The building lateral loads are resisted through the use of precast concrete shear walls in the building core.  Steel micro-pile foundations with concrete pile caps support the building’s gravity and lateral loads.   Construction Manager: North Star Construction Management, Inc.

Victory Brewing Company

Victory  Brewing Company Parksberg, PA   Structural design services for a new Brewery for one of the nation’s top ranked craft brewers.  The project consisted of renovatiosn and additions to an existing one-story steel-framed building.  A portion of the building was removed for the addition of a new Brewhouse at the corner of the building.  The front façade of the building was removed to allow for installation of new windows and veneer.  The design was closely coordinated with the requirements of multiple domestic and international equipment manufacturers.  The project also included the design of a new 4,000 sq. ft. cast-in-place concrete building for the support of (16) new 800 barrel, 50’ tall fermentation tanks, to allow for interior control and operation of the tanks.
