Job Title:       Project Designer I                                         

 Department: Engineering - Wayne, PA

Summary: Works with project managers to prepare and develop structural designs of structural framing and foundation systems of various commercial, institutional, retail, and residential projects during the design and construction phases, will work on the construction administration phase.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and/or review structural design calculations.

  2. Review structural shop drawings during construction administration.

  3. Work with Project Engineers to ensure quality of work.

  4. All other duties as assigned or requested by the Management Team.


  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  2. Ability to do engineering calculations and ability to analyze and understand engineering computer programming output.

  3. Excellent organization skills.

  4. May exercise considerable judgment and discretion in completing assignments.

  5. May exercise initiative in routine matters.


  1. Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.

  2. 0-3 years of experience in engineering.

  3. EIT Preferred.

  4. Displays professionalism and a positive attitude at all times.

  5. Proven ability to work with others and interact positively with co-workers and clients.

  6. Required to work 40 hours per week; some evenings and weekends required.

  7. Must have reliable transportation, as site visits are to be expected.

Job Title:       Project drafter

Department: Drafting

Summary:  Provides structural CAD drafting for construction projects continuing the company standard of high quality drawings and excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:

  1. Transforms initial hand sketches and engineering information using AutoCAD and Revit into working construction documents.

  2. Reviews/back checks finished drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to established MacIntosh Engineering drafting standards.

  3. Works closely with all Projects Engineers and the Chief Draftsperson to ensure quality of drawings.


  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  2. Excellent organization skills.

  3. Proficient in AutoCAD.

  4. Proficient in Revit; not required but preferred.

  5. Has understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures within the structural and architectural fields.

  6. Ability to adapt to office standards.


  1. Requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree in area of specialty.

  2. Proven ability to work in a fast paced team environment.

  3. Must be able to work 40 hours per week; occasional nights and weekends may be required on a project to project basis.
